Media12: Weekly Log : Analysis - Scarlett Giannotti

This week Jess and I began the actual design for our digipak. With basic knowledge we used the Photoshop Soft wear to produce a more professional design. With no access to our Music Video we were unable to use footage from it; therefore we resorted to taking new photographs which link to our original Video.

The front cover consists of as measured 15x15cm image of 'Her' the main character from our Music Video;

we also added the bands name 'Best Coast' in a large font situated to the left side of the image with the album tittle and song to our Music Video 'Feeling of Love' underneath.
We had planned to include a 'Special Edition' Label (regarding the exclusive Music Video)

(Like the 'Special and Limited Edition' labels and the CD front cover 'Limited Edition' Sticker.)
to be situated in the bottom left hand corner of the digipak front cover - however 'special edition' labels are usually hologram stickers therefore we were unable to find a suitable image on the Internet. I also had the idea to include 'Best Coasts' up and coming tour dates - another great promotion idea.

(Like these two CD covers) On the first back panel is a personal letter from the band 'Best Coast' thanking their fans for support and informing them of the exclusive Music Video. This is all printed over a personal photograph of the band together, making them relatable.

The first inside section as measured will be 15x15cm of an image of 'Him'

another character from our Music Video with lyrics to the song 'Feeling of Love' printed over, the next section is the middle CD space with the title ,Best Coast, repeated diagonally descending. And the last inside panel is an image of the 'Other' character from our Music Video

(Copyright Symbol and Copyright information from another CD back panel) The back page is an image of characters 'Her' and 'Him' together, with the list of songs included in this album, printed over vertically descending in the order they appear on the CD. A bar code and reviews from Record Labels, Music Magazines/Websites and critics with star ratings is also included to portray realism. We will also include Mexican Summer Record Label. Website address' for any queries about the CD, a website to Mexican Summer Record label and Best Coast.
