From starting off the process of producing a music video digital technology was used straight away. Starting up the process we had to start up blog, this blog we keep on updating throughout the production of out music video. At the start we used the Internet to start to research into different music video this research was essential to the process this was because this enabled us to get an idea of the conventions of a music video that we could include. From collecting the information about the conventions of a music video we had to use digital technology for us to broaden and learn more about the process of producing a music video to a high standard.
We also researched and started to analysis what song we should use, so by using the Internet this enabled us to get information on the artist and the sing so this would give us and insight to what our music video should portray.
Next in using digital technology that we used was the cameras, we had to use the cameras a number of times in the production. We firstly used the cameras when planning, we did this by making a story board (hand drawn) and then we had to develop it into a animated storyboard so this would give us an idea of how our finishing product would look. We had to then use the cameras to film each of the shots that we had drawn, then by using the camera we filmed each shot for at least 5 seconds each so then we could have enough footage just in case. The we uploads this to imovie HD on the apple macs another thing we used from digital technology. By uploading this onto the mac's and by using imovie HD it enabled us to visualize what our music video could potentially look like. In imovie HD it was very important in this process, this was because it enabled us to cut the clips that we had filmed and by cutting this clip we were able to put it to the music that we were also able to upload to imovie HD.
When it finally came to producing the music video we used the camera to record however we also used a cannon SLR to take photos of the process and to back up our stop motion. By using the camera we were able to take photos of the process so to refer this back to our bog and to help in showing to the readers how we were able to achieve certain angles. Th SLR camera was also used for the stop motion, as a back up. As we had already done the stop motion clips on the camera (recording) we were unsure whether it would be okay on recording the clips and so to make sure that we had a back up we took photos on the SLR camera.
From the filming process we also had to keep on referring back to our blog to make sure that we had to update what we were doing everyday in the filming process.
Moving on from filming we went back to using the macs for imovie HD, to start the editing process. The editing process was made much easier by the using imovie HD this was because when it came to editing we wanted to use some effects which we were able to do by imovie HD for example when we had to add text to our video it was very simple by going to effects and applying to the video.
During this proccess we learnt the GREAT importnace of digital technology within the indusrty because without it the media world of course would not be able to survive at all. Digital technology enables you to become creatuve as a person and to capture moments as a director that you are able to share with the world in the eyes of a director. When using the digital technology it enabled me to experiment with the technology that I had to use and even though it was not top of the market technology it did the job and still I was able to create a product that was effective and told the narrative in a way that used effects and a variety.

Post to Best Coast - Jay Gomez and Scarlett Giannotti
We contacted Best Coast via their Blog; http://bestycoasty.blogspot.com and left a comment with a link to ours. We thought their input and opinion would be useful feedback.

Looking throughout three tapes of footage I had no doubt we had enough clips to fill our music video to Best Coasts "Feeling of Love". However some unwanted features were caught in the background of our shots which were not identified when filming. E.G. a Hand, Item of clothing and even an onlooker! We were able to cover these mistakes by applying editing feature letter-box, this decreases the frame height, addaing thick black borders. Our whole music video needed to be letter-boxed which took time adjusting each individual shot to equalise the frame sizes.
We had to minimise the variety of footage accumulated due to the amount of safe over filming; this allowed us to be selective in the better qulaity shots we chose to use.
Other editing techniques added within the production of our music video were tittles allowing viewers to identify with characters and fade-out at the end which adds a professional finnish and complete ending.

When we uploaded our footage, we took a look through it and we found that in some of the shots there were things that we did not want in the shot. For example somebody's hand or an item of clothing that we didn't want in the shot. Once we had found these, we had to letter-box those shots so that we could cut out the unwanted items. However, this meant that we had to letterbox all the other shots so that all the frames would look equal and the same. It would look odd if some shots were letter-boxed and the rest of the shots were not.
This letter box effect did cause a problem with some of the shots though. Because of the angle of the shot some of the shots had to be shortened or lengthened so that we could fit them into the video so that it would be in sync. This sometimes affected lip synching when we showed a performance shot, but we were able to quickly overcome this problem.

Documenting - Fourth Day of Filming- Jessica Hung Han Yun
This was our final day of filming, we had to plan before hand the finishing shots that we would need. Before the the filming process we decided that it would be helpful and essential if we created a check list of the remaining shots, we did this by our animated storyboard which visually helped in us bring it to life our ideas.
After this we created a time plan, which we attempted to stick by, this was also a important factor this time plan was to ensure that we had the appropriate lighting so we did not lose light and that it would not affect our filming.
After collecting our equipment, we headed on off to start the last day of filming. Much like the other days of filming we had to constantly be on the look out for passers by to ensure that they would not get in shot or that we were not in any ones way. From filming in a small pathway by a field, it was very hard to get the right angles on some of the shots and it became very awkward when using the tripod because of the floor angles that we were trying to achieve. So we had to improvise and used the tripod at some angels however sometimes we had to just use a pile of books to get low enough to film this technique was to ensure that we could get the shot however also that the camera was straight having a straight shot was very essential to the process to make the video look much more professional and convincing to the audience.
When we had finally finished filming this section we had one more section to complete, having us to journey up to Brick Lane again. However we had to hurry because we had become behind schedule this was due to having to wait for passers by to pass so that they would not get into shot this resulted us in being a little behind our time plan.
Filming up Brick Lane was much easier for the group as the street that we had picked was not very populated with people, so this made it much easier for us to film without being disturbed. There was however a let down as there was a change in lighting this was due to the weather taking a unexpected turn however we managed to incorporate this into our music video as we decided that this lighting complemented the atmosphere and mood, as the girl shoe felt rejected and was very upset by the turn of events. This we felt would help in conveying to the audience the mood, and the feelings felt by this particular character.
